About GA Circular
GA Circular is a research and strategic advisory company working on driving circular economy in Asia. Our mission is to create a world without waste.
In the area of packaging waste, currently even though Asia only accounts for 45% of plastic production, the region is responsible for 82% of global ocean plastic leakage. 5 of the global top 10 countries contributing to marine plastics leakage are from Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia).
In the area of food waste, currently most of the food waste in South and Southeast Asia happens in the supply chain (at the farm, post-harvest, processing or distribution) across all food categories. For e.g. 52% fruits and vegetables in Asia and 20% of cereals in Asia are wasted in farms, post-harvest and processing, not reaching distribution centers or consumers.
To tackle these pressing environmental challenges throughout Asia, GA Circular is working on pioneering, strategic projects on circular economy in partnership with businesses, government agencies, multilateral agencies and global foundations.
