Start & End Date: 15th January 2020
Time Requirement: Full Time Contract Assignment (12 months)
Throughout Asia, GA Circular (GA) is working on pioneering, strategic projects to tackle one of the most important environmental challenges of our time – the waste epidemic in Asia and keeping the packaging out of our waterways. Recent efforts include creating first of their kind baseline studies in Asia, driving harmonization of legislations and standards and creating industry coalitions to exponentially increase recycling in Asian countries. If you are inspired and motivated to tackle complex and intertwined environmental and business challenges towards making packaging circular, then consider joining our team.
In order to succeed in the role, you will need to develop a strong domain knowledge of waste management and recycling industries for various packaging types specifically in a Southeast Asia context as well as a wider Asia Pacific context. Prior experience in waste management and the recycling industry is not mandatory, however, a resolve to tackle the issue is a must. Training will be provided by GA for subject matter knowledge.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with strong analytical and critical thinking skills and stakeholder (public and private sector) management skills for our research projects in Thailand. This role is based in Bangkok City and involves working on packaging research in collaboration with businesses and government.
The focus of the role includes liaising with businesses across the packaging, waste management, and recycling industries, government ministries and agencies, conducting in-depth surveys and data collection, supporting waste audits and creation of insights. The goal of the project is to create pioneering science-based research; provide insights, strategic recommendations, and measurable outcomes to significantly drive the circular economy in Thailand.
